9G BACKUP™ online data storage, is an advanced online backup software that will revolutionize data backup as it is recognized today. We have set ourselves apart from our competition by offering exceptional customer support through a staff of dedicated people. We are not your average software company, we strive to be better.

Company History

Cogitate Incorporated literally began inside a small furnace room within the infrastructure of the Harlan Electric Company in 1966. We have seen the world of computers change dramatically and we have been changing and growing right along with the rest of the world.

Cogitate began its maiden voyage into software with a fund accounting program with payroll services on an RPC 4000. In 1969 we began batch processing for accounting services which lasted until 1981. During that time, in order to run on mini-computers we developed our own programming language and operating system. In 1981 we ported our programming language so that our fund accounting programs would function on micro-computers.

 Along with these new capabilities we created a data backup system for our fund accounting customers. In 1985 we developed our award winning Close-Up™ remote control computer product which received the Editor’s Choice Award from PC Magazine. For the next ten years we expanded our government software products, creating and selling many different modules including voter registration, utility billing, and tax receipting. In 1995 we began renovating and creating Windows-based software.

 Today, Cogitate is focusing on the support and servicing of our fund accounting and utility billing packages, and our 9G BACKUP™ online backup software.

Product Support

We provide support for the 9G BACKUP™ online backup service in a multitude of formats. We do not use subcontractors or other third-party providers for support. These are the different support features which are included with your subscription to 9G Backup™:

 •  INTERNET DOWNLOADS AND TRAINING TUTORIALS: If you work beyond our telephone support hours, your problem might be solved by watching one of our video training tutorials or by looking at our FAQ’s page.

 •  AUTOMATIC SOFTWARE UPDATES:  When you run the 9G BACKUP™ Console, if an update for the software is available, your software will be automatically updated. You’ll always have the latest software without lifting a finger and at no additional cost!

 •  MONTHLY NEWSLETTERS:  Each month you’ll receive an electronic newsletter with industry news, tips, and other topics of interest. Click to sign up for our newsletter.
